JW Anderson’s Spring 2025 collection was a combination of playful innovation with bold design elements.
The collection featured a mix of sculptural and oversized silhouettes alongside daringly short lengths, creating a balance between structure and fluidity. Key pieces included voluminous skirts paired with tight-knit tank tops, as well as garments incorporating trompe-l’œil effects that played with perspective and scale.
There’s no denying Jonathan Anderson’s shape-shifting abilities. The designer, season after season, transforms everyday, mundane garments by completely rethinking their shapes and silhouettes. He manages to subverts the norm every single time and this collection was no exception to this rule.
But many of the most eye-catching – granted – designs really did not translate into overwhelmingly easy wears. However, that was kind of the point. “Irrational clothing”, Jonathan Anderson called it, adding, “I liked this idea of when you’re spaced out, you’re a bit like a space cadet”.
And if you are wondering.. isn’t Jonathan Anderson actually creative director of LOEWE… or is he doing his own thing:
Well, Anderson is one of the leading designers of his generation, designing collections for his eponymous label, JW Anderson. And yes, he is also the creative director of LOEWE.
