If you’re a real denim head and love selvedge denim, then iconic denim brand, Lee has you covered this season.
Their classic 101 jeans (remember, James Dean’s fave pair) just got a trendy re-issued update – the Cowboy Jean.
Introduced in 1924, the Lee® 101 Cowboy Pant has served as the blueprint for Lee denim for over a century. Originally known as the ‘Cowboy Waist Overalls,’ this historic jean was designed for durability needed to work and ride hard.
The new Lee 101 Cowboy Pant is a recreation of this original from thread to trim. Every detail has been considered. Lee recreated the classic brass Lee cowboy donut shank and the cinch back buckle from an original sample in Lee’s archives. It features copper rivets, and x-bar tacks on the back spade pockets as well as iconic details like our standard 1946 lazy S-stitching, and a custom leather heritage patch. Handcrafted from a heavyweight 15oz organic cotton Kurabo denim, it’s available in both raw and washed selvedge.
Inspired by 100 years of history, Lee’s 101 selvedge jeans highlight premiere craftsmanship and attention to detail. Made with the best materials, such as Kaihara or Kurabo denim, crafted in Italy and Japan, and featuring copper rivets and leather back patch as well as iconic details such as our spade pocket, x-bar tacks and lazy S-stitching. Each piece embodies Lee’s denim heritage.
We have been advocating unisex and genderless denim forever. And these 101 bad boys are definitely a perfect unisex style. Especially since you can also adjust the waist with a cinch back buckle (image below).
