So ok. It’s confession time from yours truly. And summing it up in one sentence – there will always be skinny jeans in my life.
By now it’s no big secret that I have always been about baggy and uber oversized jeans. And I definitely still am. The more over the better, actually. And by always I mean, literally always. Before boyfriend jeans became a thing I used to wear mainly men’s jeans. So then, this said, my confession should really be shocking, but then again, it isn’t shocking at all.
Because I have come to accept that the skinny jean will always be my go-to for certain occasions. Skinny jeans will remain a wardrobe staple in my denim closet. And here’s why.
Can you imagine showing up at a first date in baggies? Or going to a job interview? Or meeting your future mother-in-law for the first time? Or going with your boyfriend/husband/partner to his college reunion? Can you really go through life without a pair of black skinny jeans? I could go on forever, but I am sure you already got the idea!
This said, well, unfortunately it’s not the easiest task these days to find cool skinny jeans out there. But I did score the internet and also looked in brick and mortar stores and below you can find my top favorite skinnies and why I love them.
But before you scroll down – do you stick to skinny jeans, or do you switch it up with different fits? We’d love to hear from you:-) You can leave a comment below this feature or anywhere on our social media.
Mott & Bow’s Jane Jeans ($119) have perfectly placed back pockets which make your butt look amazing. Available in mid- and hi-rise in five different washes.

Madewell 10″ High-Rise Skinny Jeans come in a beautiful vintage wash and are available in petite (I am 5″4) as well as standard and long. The perfect inseam length is an important issue for almost everyone.

MOTHER The Mid Rise Dazzler Ankle Jeans ($238). Summer is coming and there’s one denim wash I will always fall back on to: a very light shade of blue.

Not to mention a pair of skinny white jeans. Quite tricky because they can be very transparent. That’s why I go for a heavier weight denim like the Zadig&Voltaire Ava Cropped Jeans ($248). The zipper on the front pockets is an additional plus!

And definitely the must-have black skinnies. No explanation needed. There is and always will be an occasion in our life when these are a “fundamental necessity”!
L’AGENCE Marguerite Skinny Jeans ($245)

BLANKNYC The Principle Vegan Leather Jeans ($98)
