The AG Art Project is a new capsule collection that reimagines fashion as wearable art. Launched by AG Jeans, this collection features bold, abstract prints created by artists using various media such as watercolor, pastels, and photography. These prints draw inspiration from natural phenomena and personal experiences, such as the Northern Lights and moonlit ocean waves, which are then digitally manipulated to achieve vibrant, seamless patterns.
“The denim landscape has been somewhat flat for years, so I set out to find fresh inspiration that would bring something unique to the table. The Art Project was born from this desire to consistently offer bold, creative pieces that inspire personal expression through wearable art.” Yul Ku, owner and chief executive officer of AG.
The pieces include utility jackets, wide-leg denim, and trucker jackets, with a range of styles for both men and women. The collection aims to encourage individuality and self-expression through unique designs.
Every print has its own story. Our artists tapped into personal sources of inspiration: the Northern Lights, moonlit ocean waves, desert landscapes, a midnight drive through a sleeping city with the windows down and the music up. Wind in the trees, porcelain beading, the discovery of a hidden garden. Drawing from these influences, the artists reached for watercolors, acrylics, pastels, charcoal, photography, and a range of traditional media to interpret their unique vision. These original works were then digitized as prints and translated into wearable pieces of art, with AG fabrics serving as the canvas.
Available in limited quantities, the Art Project garments are offered at prices ranging from $175 to $427 and can be purchased on AG’s website.
