AREA was founded in 2014 in New York by Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk.
Named for the legendary Manhattan nightclub that turned evenings into experiences, AREA inhabits the tension between intimacy and spectacle.
AREA creates womenswear and accessories that balance the precision of European craft with the electricity of New York subculture, inviting intrigue, wit, and movement to every moment. All of AREA’s collections are developed and produced in both New York and Milan.
After Panszczyk’s departure, the brand’s new creative director, Nicholas Alburn (former Balenciaga) showed his first collection for the brand in Paris a couple of months ago.
Their denim line is part of the brand’s high-glamour DNA. Embellished, fashion-forward rather than everyday basics. For example, crystal-trimmed jeans, slit details, wide leg or straight leg with dramatic details. And because they are statement pieces, they might be less “versatile everyday” and more “wow piece for an event/outfit”.
